Hyundai may have just teased a production version of its retro-inspired
N Vision 74 concept car
. A boxy and angular two-door that looks awfully similar to that design study was just shown in a video that was published on a Hyundai Motor Group YouTube channel. The trailer in question focuses on vehicle design and is called “The Great Heritage – Car.”

The Hyundai N Vision 74 Hydrogen Concept is a retro-looking race car with a futuristic appeal, a fuel-cell tank, and over 600 horsepower.
What Can We Glean From This Feature?
This teaser video, which is less than two minutes in length, features numerous car designers talking about their craft. You also get a peek at some of the inner workings of Hyundai’s design, though it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on as many of the vehicles under development are blurred out. If this stuff is so sensitive, why put it in a video?
Rhetorical questions aside, the mysterious car in this video looks almost exactly like the N Vision 74 concept. The body is boxy and squared-off, the hood is low, there are various air vents, and, just like the design study, there’s a prominent wing on the rear of the hatch. The fenders, front end, and shape of the side glass all look identical, too.
Now, unlike the concept, which was unveiled in 2022, this car also features an N logo on the front of the driver’s side rocker panel, and it rolls on blacked-out wheels with a fairly wispy spoke pattern that looks completely different from what the concept featured. Its rollers are white and sport a flattened, dish-like design with some small vents around the circumference of the wheel. The tires also feature an interrupted band of white, kind of like vestigial whitewalls.
Of course, we don’t know if the car teased in this video is a production model or not – it could just be the concept they keep around as an inspiration for designers – but it sure would be nice if Hyundai built a version of the N Vision 74, because it sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.
Hyundai N Vision 74 Concept
This concept is an homage to the Hyundai Pony Coupe that was designed by legendary Italian automotive stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro. Aside from the venerable Pony, this vehicle was also inspired by the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo that debuted in 2015. The N Vision 74 concept features an electric powertrain that also incorporates a high-performance hydrogen fuel cell stack, the first N car to feature this sort of powertrain. Providing motivation are two electric motors at the rear axle. These dynamos deliver more than 670 horsepower and in excess of 663 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers provide a top speed north of 155 mph.
Rounding out the powertrain, this car also features an 800-volt battery architecture for rapid DC charging, while the hydrogen fuel cell stack is rated at 95 kW (127 hp). Overall, this design study is estimated to have more than 372 miles of range. Available on the South Korean WAVVE streaming platform, “The Great Heritage – Car” appears to be a miniseries. The first episode of this show, entitled “The Lost Pony” debuted on February 12, though more installments should be in the works.
