Beware Triumph, CFMoto’s Triple-Cylinder Streetfighter Is On The Way!

Today, nearly every middleweight sports bike has a naked sibling. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 has the Z650, the Yamaha YZF-R7 has the MT-07, and the Honda CBR650R has the CB650R. So with CFMoto announcing its impressive 675SR-R (675SS in America) sports bike, it’s only fair the Chinese giant follows the trend. That seems to be the case, too, as a new CFMoto middleweight naked has been spied testing in China. Here’s what you need to know.

The CFMoto 675NK Takes Design Inspiration From The 800NK

Look at CFMoto’s multi-cylinder naked bikes, and you’ll see an aggressive design language across the board. According to the spy shots, the 675NK builds on the same idea. Up top, we can spot an alien-like fascia, comprising a projector headlight and LED DRLs. It appears identical to the 800NK’s face, albeit with minor tweaks to the partnering plastics. The aerodynamic front fender looks familiar as well.

Behind this lies a muscular fuel tank, partnered with sporty side panels. The sleek tank extensions extend to the front forks while the radiator shrouds act as a perfect sidekick. These make the 675 more aggressive than its Japanese rivals. The tail end, all this while, looks derived from the 675SR-R. It has aerodynamic plastic panels on each side of the pillion saddle and an LED strip-type tail lamp with integrated turn signals.

The cockpit looks likable as well. That’s because the leaked images show a sizable TFT, reminiscent of its sports bike sibling. On the SR, this display lets you toggle through:

  • Smartphone connectivity
  • Traction control
  • Ride modes
  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Display modes
  • Lap timer

CFMoto’s Inline-Triple Engine Will Power The 675NK

Design aside, the 675NK seems to have the engine as its sibling. The three headers and under-belly exhaust are both giveaways of the same, along with the crankcases and heads. To give you an idea, this 675cc, triple-cylinder engine produces 95 horsepower and 51.6 pound-feet on the sports bike. If the output remains unchanged on the naked, it’d put the NK well clear of its rivals from Japan.

Like the engine, the underpinnings are derived from the SR. We can see upside-down forks, dual front disc brakes, and 17-inch alloy wheels, paired with a tubular chassis and gullwing-type swingarm. The big change, though, is the change in riding position. The NK has a conventional tubular handlebar, unlike the clip-ons seen on the SR. This, plus the reworked tank and saddle, should ensure an upright riding triangle.

Although the spy shots show a motorcycle wrapped in camouflage, much of the bike seems ready for production here. So we believe the 675NK’s reveal is not too far in the future. The timeline could be: public debut at the 2024 EICMA, followed by an international launch in early 2025. Considering the 675SS is launched here, the NK seems like a no-brainer entry, too. However, it would spoil you for choice, considering we already have the $8,699 800NK on offer here.
